Project Overview

AI Swapper is an AI-powered SaaS platform designed for content creators, influencers, and marketers to generate high-quality face-swapped videos quickly and securely. While the underlying AI pipelines handled complex video processing, GPU inference, and model orchestration, the primary challenge from a design standpoint was to make a highly technical capability feel simple, intuitive, and creator-friendly. The goal was to translate studio-grade AI video editing into a workflow that felt as easy as uploading a clip and clicking “Generate.”

Design Problem

Most existing face-swapping and deepfake tools suffered from one of two extremes: overly technical interfaces meant for engineers, or consumer apps that compromised quality, realism, and privacy. Users struggled with unclear steps, poor feedback during long processing times, and limited control over output quality. The design challenge was to reduce cognitive load, build user trust, and guide creators through a complex AI process without exposing them to the complexity behind it.

Research, Discovery & Direction

I approached AI Swapper with a creator-first mindset, mapping the end-to-end journey from upload → processing → preview → export. The interface was designed around a linear, confidence-building flow: clear input requirements, visible processing states, and predictable outcomes. Visual hierarchy, spacing, and typography were optimized to keep focus on the content rather than the system. Special attention was given to loading states, progress indicators, and copy—ensuring users always understood what the AI was doing and what would happen next.

Design Execution

To support scalability, I designed a lightweight but consistent UI system covering dashboards, upload flows, previews, subscription states, and admin controls. Components such as video cards, processing status indicators, captions controls, and upgrade prompts were reused across the platform to maintain clarity and reduce friction. The UI balanced a clean, modern aesthetic with subtle cues that reinforced trust, security, and performance, which are critical when users upload personal media.

Collaboration & Impact

I collaborated closely with engineering and AI teams to align UX decisions with technical constraints such as GPU queues, background jobs, and processing latency. This collaboration ensured the interface accurately reflected real system states while remaining user-friendly. The final design enabled creators to produce studio-quality content significantly faster, improved perceived performance through smart UX feedback, and established a reusable design foundation for future creative AI products built under the same ecosystem.
