CustomerInsights.AI is a platform-led Analytics-as-a-Service company built exclusively for the life sciences industry. While the product had strong underlying technology and advanced AI/ML capabilities, the user experience in 2022 reflected a traditional B2B backend system—dense, complex, and not designed around real user workflows. The goal of this project was to redesign the core analytics experience to make insights more accessible, explainable, and actionable for commercial teams across pharma and biotech organizations.
Too Many Dashboards, Too Little Care
Despite delivering powerful analytics, the platform lacked a user-centric approach. Interfaces were overloaded with data, visual hierarchy was weak, and workflows were system-driven rather than decision-driven. This increased cognitive load, slowed adoption, and required heavy training for end users. The challenge was to simplify interaction with complex data without reducing analytical depth, while building a foundation that could scale across multiple enterprise products.
Design Approach & Process
I started with a user-first mindset—mapping real commercial decision workflows and identifying where users struggled to extract insights. The redesign began with Incentive Compensation, one of the most complex products in the ecosystem. I introduced clearer information hierarchy, modern typography, purposeful color usage, and progressive disclosure to reduce friction. From these patterns, I built a modular enterprise design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and reusability across current and future products.
Design System & Scalability
Once validated, the design system became the visual and interaction backbone for the entire CustomerInsights.AI platform. It standardized layouts, dashboards, tables, filters, and KPI components—allowing teams to extend the same UX language across multiple applications. This enabled faster development, reduced design debt, and ensured a cohesive experience across 40+ analytics use cases within their commercial analytics cloud.
Impact & Outcome
The redesign transformed CustomerInsights.AI from a technology-heavy analytics tool into a user-centric, insight-driven platform. Teams experienced improved usability, faster onboarding, and greater trust in data-driven decisions. Most importantly, the design system positioned the company to scale its next-generation Agentic AI products—supporting autonomous, explainable, and collaborative decision-making across the life sciences commercial value chain.
